Borussia Mönchengladbach rising star Winsley Boteli has seemingly ruled out a potential move to Everton for the time being, insisting his focus is on getting to the first-team in Germany.

The young striker has been speaking to Transferkmartk’s German edition, where he also revealed his idol is former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.

Boteli has been making a name for himself in German youth football this season, with 12 goals in 12 games for the U19s in the Bundesliga West.

His performances have been earning him admiring glances from around Europe, with reports in Germany and Italy explaining that Juventus could be battling Everton for his signature in the near future.

That’s because the youngster is yet to sign a professional contract, meaning he could be signed for a lower compensation fee compared to a full transfer fee once he turns 18 and signs a professional contract with the German side.

Their scouting efforts may have been wasted, though, with Boteli hinting he’s not interested in Everton or anywhere else for the time being, but is instead focused on getting into Mönchengladbach’s first-team.

“My role model is Karim Benzema,” he said.

“His story and how he sees football suits me. He has an extraordinary mentality and a great career. I’m doing a good job at the moment because I’m training hard to be the best.

“I see myself in the first team next year. I will pay it (the trust) back.”

Everton striker Beto will not be returning to Udinese in the January transfer window but could be an option for AC Milan.

That’s according to Fanta Master, who cover the player today and how the striker’s time at Everton is ‘proving to be a real disappointment’.

The striker joined Everton in the summer transfer window as a potential replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose injury problems have proven disastrous for Everton in recent years.

However, he has managed to overcome those issues this season and that’s meant Beto has spent the majority of this season sat on the bench.

That, coupled with the potential risk of relegation following Everton’s 10-point deduction, could mean the striker will ‘favour the farewell’ in the January transfer window.

A return to former club Udinese is ‘completely out of the question’ at this moment in time but AC Milan ‘would be vigilant’ about his situation.

They followed him in recent transfer windows, and it’s not yet ruled out that they make a move for him in January, potentially proposing a loan deal.

No contact has been made between themselves and Everton at this moment in time, but the hypothesis cannot be ruled out, particularly if Luka Jovic continues to flop, as Beto is seen as an ideal profile to rotate alongside Olivier Giroud.

Everton defender Nathalie Björn has ‘put herself in the spotlight of Real Madrid’ by admitting that she is ready to move on from the Toffees.

That’s according to AS, who cover comments from the defender to STV in Sweden and how they are likely to lead to another effort from Real Madrid for her signature.

The defender is quoted as telling SVT: “I feel like I need a new step and a new challenge to continue developing. Then, if it is in Spain or England, we will see. They are the two best leagues. England is more physical, and Spain is more possession-oriented, and I like having the ball.”

She also refused to answer direct questions on interest from Real Madrid, but they’ve been interested in her for some time, with it made clear in September that they had submitted several offers and a report earlier this month that they were again looking at her ahead of the January transfer window.

Her comments are now likely to have reignited their efforts, according to AS, who say they put her in the spotlight for a team that had already wanted her.

That’s because Björn is considered ‘one of the best defenders in Europe’ as she is capable of playing at centre-back, full-back and also in midfield if required.

She joined Everton in 2021 and has impressed since her arrival, with performances that have put her on the agenda of several big sides, Real Madrid chief among them.

They already tried to sign her in the summer and made several financial offers for her, but the move was blocked by Everton. That’s unlikely to happen in January as her current deal expires in 2024 and she’s seen to have opened the door to a move to the Spanish capital.

Some of Everton’s transfer plans for the winter transfer window are today detailed by journalist Rudy Galetti, and they include a Leeds United player.

It all starts with the reporter bringing some news on the future of Paris Saint Germain striker Hugo Ekitike, who could leave the French side in January.

It’s claimed that despite interest from Premier League sides such as Crystal Palace and West Ham, he’s unlikely to be pursued by Everton.

The Toffees may have been linked to him in the past, but now they don’t consider him ‘a priority’ for the middle of the season.

According to Galetti, Everton have another target for the winter market, and that’s Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto.

It’s said that the Toffees ‘could make a new attempt’ to get the 20-year-old signed in January.

Featuring for Leeds this season, Gnonto has one goal and one assist in 12 appearances.

The Italian media is often wondering whether he’ll be back to Italy in a near future, but now it seems he could end up moving to Goodison Park.

The Leeds player is valued by Transfermarkt at €18m, and has a contract with the Whites running until 2027.

Arnaut Danjuma returned to the Premier League in the summer window when he joined Everton on loan from Villarreal.

This season, the forward has managed a goal and an assist from 12 games, and has seen his game time restricted in the league in recent times. He’s clocked in 46 minutes from the last seven matches.

When asked about the 26-year-old’s situation, Everton manager Sean Dyche said. “The same as it was. Fighting for his place. Just like everyone else.”

This is highlighted by Voetbal International, who then relay quotes from former Schalke midfielder Simon Cziommer about the Netherlands international.

Cziommer is working as an agent and represents Burnley’s Wout Weghorst, who is now on loan at TSG Hoffenheim. The frontman joined the Clarets in January 2022, when Dyche was in charge at Turf Moor.

The agent, who is also an analyst, knows about the current Everton coach’s methods well because of Weghorst, and has sent a message to Danjuma after Dyche’s latest comments.

“With this manager you just have to show it. I already experienced that when he worked at Burnley. You have to show every day that you want it 100%. Especially in this situation,” he said.

“Fight, fight, fight. Then he gets his playing minutes and you have to be lucky to be able to make the difference.”

It’s to be noted Cziommer doesn’t manage Danjuma, but was sharing his informed opinion on how the Dutchman can improve his situation at Everton.

Former Everton winger Andy van der Meyde has again insisted it was only injuries that ruined his time at the club, refuting claims that he took drugs during his playing career.

The Dutchman has been speaking to Soccer News regarding his career, which came to an end in 2011 after spells with Inter Milan, Ajax and Everton to name just three.

It was at Goodison Park where he arguably earned notoriety after joining on the final day of the transfer window in a €2m deal from Inter Milan in 2005.

He was expected to be a key player for the Toffees after impressing at Ajax and for the Netherlands but instead only managed 24 appearances for the club in a spell that was marred by injuries, personal problems and disciplinary issues.

He eventually left when his contract expired in 2009 and tried to revive his career back in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven but was unsuccessful, eventually retiring at the age of 31.

He’s since spoken regularly about his time at Everton and what went wrong, expressing regret for previous comments and a falling out with then manager David Moyes.

He’s now commented on his time at Goodison Park once again, insisting that it would have been better had it not been for an initial injury.

“No, it wasn’t for the money. I was at Inter and I wanted to play in the World Cup,” he said when asked why he made the move.

“They told me I had to play, or I wouldn’t make it. So, I wanted to play in the World Cup with the Dutch national team. So, I said I wanted to leave. And then Everton came. I played there in the beginning.

“Moyes really wanted me. So, I went there, and I played my first six games.  played well, I had three assists in six games in the Premier League. And then I tore a muscle in my upper leg, because I was just going to play.

“And then it actually went wrong with me. I had an injury that I couldn’t do anything about. I had to rest, massage every day. I wasn’t allowed to run; I wasn’t allowed to do anything. Then I got bored.

“I was lying on the couch every day, doing this and that, massaging. And then we thought, you know, I’m going to take a step, do something else. And then it actually went wrong with me, because of that injury.”

Everton’s Beto has told Gianluca Di Marzio that he is optimistic of representing Portugal if he were to impress in the Premier League.

After spending three years at Udinese, the striker joined the Merseyside club in the last window.

He has scored one goal and registered one assist from 11 games for Everton and both of them came in the EFL Cup. The striker hasn’t yet found the back of the net in the league from eight games.

The 25-year-old has yet to receive a call-up from the national team and believes his move to Goodison Park could help him achieve it at some stage in the future.

“I don’t think about it too much because I have to do well on the pitch. If I do well, I can think about it, otherwise it’s useless,” he said.

“I just have to continue working but the Premier League is a good showcase and if I do well here…”

When asked about his idol, the former Udinese man mentioned Champions League winner with Barcelona and Inter Milan, Samuel Eto’o, who was at Everton during the 2014/15 season.

“My idol is Samuel Eto’o, even though we have different playing styles. I don’t take inspiration from any player in particular where I say to myself ‘I want to do like him ‘, no. I play my way, the Beto way,” Beto explained.

The frontman is of the belief he can contribute more at Everton and also stated he wants to focus on improving his own form gradually.

“As I said before, every player can always do more. And I’m honest: I think I can do more. Now I’m at Everton and I’ll have to continue working to improve myself. But one step at a time,” he added.

Everton were successful in signing Beto from Udinese towards the end of the last window, after having missed out on him at the start of this year.

The striker was able to score on his Toffees debut, against Doncaster Rovers, in the EFL Cup. Since then, he has failed to score and managed to register one assist, which came in Everton’s EFL Cup win over Burnley.

Beto is waiting to score his first Premier League goal and despite the recent struggles, he told Gianluca Di Marzio that he’s delighted to have joined Everton. The 25-year-old made this claim when asked to review his first few months at the Merseyside club.

“I feel great, I feel great! It’s great to play here in a big league like the Premier League and I’m very happy to be an Everton player,” he said.

The Portuguese started his career in his country before moving to Italy, when Udinese signed him in 2021. He was asked about his own form at Everton and also the difference between the Premier League and the Serie A.

“It’s difficult to score goals everywhere [laughs]. But here in the Premier League it’s a bit difficult,” Beto explained.

“I have already had several opportunities and I have to continue like this to score. I am never satisfied regardless of whether I have scored or not. I’m never satisfied but when Everton win I’m very happy.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored four goals and registered one assist in Everton’s last nine matches, which is why Sean Dyche has favoured him over Beto to lead the Toffees’ attack.

Borussia Monchengladbach will move quickly next year to keep youngster Winsley Boteli out of the hands of Everton, with their interest leading to a ‘turbulent’ few weeks for him and the club.

That’s according to Rheinische Post, relayed by Gladbach Live, who cover the player today and the plans in place at Borussia to keep him long-term.

The newspaper explains that the last few weeks have been turbulent for the youngster, whose ‘top sporting performances’ have led to increased speculation about his future.

Several reports have indicated that Everton, as well as Juventus, are keeping a close eye on his development and could make a move in future to try and prise him away.

The increasing reports have ‘made it clear to Borussia fans’ that they were worried Boteli could leave in the coming months and the club have been urged to get him signed to a professional contract as soon as possible.

That is exactly what the club plan to do, and they have with other players in the past, but patience is needed as Boteli can only sign a professional deal once he turns 18 on July 5th, 2024.

Borussia plan to offer him that deal as soon as they are able, although they are well protected anyway as his current youth contract runs until 2025 anyway.

In the meantime, the club wants to ‘proceed cautiously’ with him but also know that they have to show him good prospects at the club or ‘run the risk of losing him’ to another club, with Everton and Juventus in particular lurking in the background.

Everton duo Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucouré could be options that Barcelona look at in the January transfer window to help cover for Gavi’s injury.

That’s according to ‘El Bar’ on Cadena SER, who have today analysed various options for the Catalans after the youngster suffered a serious knee injury on international duty.

That injury is set to leave him on the sidelines for months, a major blow for the player but also Barcelona, who will be without a player who has been key for Xavi and is a major part of their plans moving forwards.

Finding a replacement for him will be difficult, particularly given the restrictions on the club given their financial situation.

The hunt will be on to find someone to help fill the void, though, and Cadena SER, alongside journalist Bruno Alemany, propose five options today.

Two of them are from Everton, namely Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucouré. On the first they say he could be available thanks to the Toffees 10-point deduction, which may force them to get rid of players.

According to Alemany he is a player who “has the ability to steal (the ball) high up” and that could benefit Xavi’s style, although Bojan Krkic has one major issue.

“(He’s) very good defensively, recovering, although a bit tactically disorganized. At Barça, you have to be very clear about tactics,” he said.

Doucouré is an option for the same reason as Gueye, Everton’s sanctions may force them into January sales to help further balance the books.

At 30-years-old, he’d be a more viable option than 34-year-old Gueye, although Cadena do conveniently ignore the fact he recently signed a new contract at Goodison Park.

He’s one that Alemany likes in particularly, though, and feels the midfielder is undervalued in the Premier League.

“I like him more than Gueye, although he would surely be a little more expensive,” he added.

“He is scoring important goals, he is a player with arrival and an impressive physique, I feel that he is very undervalued in the Premier League.”
