Fulham star Joao Palhinha could be set for January transfer window heartbreak, as Bayern Munich aren’t pushing to get him again just yet.

That’s according to journalist Christian Falk, who says the German champions are focusing on ‘cheap solutions’ for the winter window rather than big expensive purchases.

As you’ll be more than aware by this point, Palhinha was one step away from securing a move to Bayern in the summer before Bayern cancelled the transfer on deadline day after failing to source a replacement.

The midfielder has since signed a new deal at Craven Cottage, but several reports have made it clear that a move to Bayern could still be on the cards regardless and that was not seen as impediment.

That’s because they’re still on the hunt for a number six for manager Thomas Tuchel, who has made it clear that position needs strengthening at some point.

Palhinha is believed to be his preferred target and it was even claimed that Fulham were willing to accept a cheaper deal than the one they agreed to in the summer.

But it appears that may not be cheap enough as Bayern are assessing their options, and a move for the Fulham move “isn’t really hot” at this moment in time.

“The search is still ongoing in the search for a number six, but Palhinha isn’t really hot at the moment either,” he said amid a discussion on Manchester United’s Casemiro.

“Bayern want to find cheap solutions in the winter and are looking. Distribution still has priority.”

If Fulham are interested in negotiating the sale of any of their Brazilian strikers in the winter transfer window, it seems they’ll have a good opportunity to do that.

Zero Hora journalist Eduardo Gabardo features a piece claiming Carlos Vinícius and Rodrigo Muniz are both targeted by clubs from their home country.

Palmeiras are said to be interested in Carlos Vinícius, while Rodrigo Muniz is in the ‘radar’ of Atlético Mineiro and Grêmio.

It’s said both Fulham players have been drawing attention since the last season, and Palmeiras are currently considering making an official bid for Carlos Vinícius.

Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro, who previously made an approach for Muniz, currently ‘observe the situation’.

It seems clear that all clubs are waiting for a green light from Fulham to open negotiations for the two strikers, who’ve been competing for a place in Marco Silva’s side.

Carlos Vinícius has two goals in nine appearances this seaosn, while Rodrigo Muniz only scored once in eight games. Those are similar situations, and it’s down to the Whites whether to let one of them go.

Fulham and Nottingham Forest are both in the background eyeing a deal for Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson, who can be secured for a potential bargain price of €15m.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who cover how the Premier League duo may be competition for Juventus, who are also considering a move for the midfielder.

The newspaper explains that Juventus eyes have been turned to Ferguson as they look to add a midfielder to their squad, and he continues to impress in Serie A, with three goals this season following seven in his first season last year.

His performances have been key to Bologna sitting fifth in the table and just three points from a Champions League place, something which would make it difficult to sell in January.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t interested parties, though, and while Juventus are now in the mix Fulham and Nottingham Forest ‘have liked Ferguson for some time’ while AC Milan are also keeping an eye on him.

Juventus have ‘shown the most decisive signs’ towards him at this point as they have a relationship with his agents, who also represent Federico Gatti.

They’ve been getting him signed to a new deal and in that process tested the waters for Ferguson, before sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli went to scout him in person.

He scored the winning goal in that game and that’s caused the Bianconeri to press, particularly as his asking price of €15m is half of what they would need to spend on other targets.

That’s also a figure Fulham and Nottingham Forest could easily afford as well and they want to start moving themselves if their interest is as firm and longstanding as Tuttosport suggest it is.

Ajax have should consider a move to bring Kenny Tete back to the club from Fulham in the January transfer window.

That’s according to former striker turned analyst Ali Boussaboun, who has suggested the Fulham defender as a potential target for Ajax as they plan a rebuild.

Tete has been with Fulham since a €3.2m move from Lyon in September 2020, establishing himself as a key first-team player, particularly under Marco Silva.

However, he has found himself out of the first team this season because of injury, with just five appearances and 37% of the available minutes under his belt in the Premier League so far.

Fulham also appear to have replaced the Dutch defender with Timothy Castagne, who arrived from Leicester in a €13m deal in the summer transfer window.

That could potentially open the door to a move for Tete and Boussaboun thinks he should return to Ajax, a club where the defender spent 12 years of his career moving up from the youth set up into the first team.

He went on to make 55 appearances in the first team before leaving for Lyon in 2017 and Boussaboun thinks a reunion would work.

“Something really needs to be done at the back position,” he said.

“I don’t understand why they didn’t bring Tagliafico back earlier. Kenny Tete is also a good option. He is fast, strong and can play nice football.

“But I would rather go for a talent. That’s where Ajax stands. also known for. That’s the reason they’ve made hundreds of millions.”

As Palmeiras engaged in a chase for Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius, Brazilian outlet UOL now features an interesting update on this pursuit.

The website writes that the Verdão got in touch with the striker’s staff, and the player has given the ‘green light’ for a return to his country.

Palmeiras are still to send Fulham an official offer, and the negotiations are set to start after the end of the Brazilian league, which finishes next week.

It’s made clear that there’s some competition for the signing, though, as the striker is drawing interest from Spanish, Italian, Turkish, French and German clubs.

UOL writes that Fulham have had several offers for Carlos Vinícius in the past, and chose to hold him, but his staff now believe a transfer is ‘more likely’.

There’s no mention of how much the signing would cost, while he’s currently valued by Transferamrkt at €6m.

Playing for Fulham this season, Carlos Vinícius has two goals in nine matches, and has only been on the pitch for 322 minutes. His contract with the club runs until 2025, with an option for an extra year.

Atlético Mineiro’s chase for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz has just become a lot more difficult, according to reports from Brazil.

Journalist Thiago Fernandes comes up on YouTube to say that the Whites have increased their request for the striker’s transfer.

It’s said Fulham now demand €8m for the move, and Atlético consider that price to be too high.

According to Fernandes, the Belo Horizonte club are now only moving for the signing in case the Whites considerably drop their request.

It’s claimed that Grêmio also got interested in Muniz and made an approach last summer, but at this time, it’s really only Atlético Mineiro who are trying his signing.

Featuring for Fulham this season, Muniz has one goal in eight appearances, and has mostly been used as a back-up option, but has recently been out of the side with a knee injury.

Recent reports from Brazil had claimed that the player was Atlético Mineiro’s ‘Plan A’ for the 2024 season, but it now seems like the request made by the Craven Cottage side was like a bucket of cold water on their efforts to get him.

Brazilian side Palmeiras are reportedly moving for the signing of Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius.

According to journalist Jorge Nicola, the Verdão had previously been interested in the centre-forward and now ‘reopened’ talks to get him.

It’s said that Palmeiras director Anderson Barros had a phone call with the Carlos Vinícius’ representatives to understand his situation at Fulham.

The striker only has 308 minutes played for the Craven Cottage this season, with two goals scored so far.

Back at the start of last week, the very same Jorge Nicola had already brought the information that the Whites are interested in the signing of Pedro from Flamengo.

In case that transfer goes through, then Carlos Vinícius would have even less importance in Fulham’s squad, and that’s something that Palmeiras are monitoring, as that could turn into a big opportunity for them in the winter market.

The Brazilian club are said to be following the striker for at least three windows, and this could be the right time to get him signed.

According to Nicola, the player sees a return to Brazil ‘with good eyes’, as he believes that doing well in his home country could result in a call-up to the national team.

VfL Wolfsburg star Jonas Wind has told Bild that he’s aware of the reports linking him with a move to Fulham.

Last week, claims from the United Kingdom had stated the striker has several admirers in England, including from Marco Silva’s side. It was also said they could consider making an approach for him, if they decide to bolster their attack in January.

The 24-year-old has been a stand out player for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists from 14 games. His form has caught the attention of several clubs, with Fulham among them.

Wind has scored more than 50% of Wolfsburg’s goals in the league this season and Bild state that barring the game against Augsburg, the German club have won when the Dane has found the back of the net in the league. This is why the outlet says he’s Wolfsburg’s ‘life insurance’.

He managed a goal and an assist in Wolfsburg’s 2-1 win over RB Leipzig at the weekend, and after the tie, Bild asked the Denmark international to assess his ‘special status’ at the club.

“I’m trying my best and of course I’m very happy with my performance against Leipzig and the win. But I don’t think too much about how important I am to the team,” he said.

The frontman has a contract until 2026 and with regards to the recent claims of Fulham’s interest, the report states there’s ‘nothing to it’ yet.

When asked about it, Wind explained: “I read that too. But there was no contact with Fulham.”

Already loaned to Standard Liège last season, Steven Alzate was sent back to the Jupiler Pro League side from Brighton this summer.

What many people don’t know about the London born Colombia international, however, is that he spent a chunk of his youth at Fulham before going to Leyton Orient.

The midfielder sat down with DH to discuss his career to date, including his spell with the Craven Cottage side.

The 25-year-old, already capped seven times for Colombia, was asked about his time at Fulham, which happened when he was very young.

Describing his time at Craven Cottage as a ‘great learning curve’, Alzate also pointed out that his technical side came naturally to him, with the physical and tactical aspects of football coming at a later date.

Then, a big decision needed to be made.

He said: “Leaving Fulham for Leyton Orient was an important decision in my life. At first glance, it seems like a step backwards, but it really wasn’t. With my father, we told ourselves it was the best thing to do. I needed to get out of my comfort zone at Fulham to grow. Leyton Orient was also closer to home. I spent great years there.”

Joining Leyton Orient in 2016 after leaving Fulham, the player made his way to the first-team, where he played 12 games, scored one goal and assisted another two before Brighton came swooping in.

He has also enjoyed a spell on loan at Swindon Town, before heading to Belgium for them first time last season.

Newcastle United target Serhou Guirassy has turned down a potential move to Saudi Arabia, because he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

That’s according to BILD, who say the transfer race for the Bundesliga’s new phenomenon is getting ‘wilder and wilder’.

They explain that while Guirassy was away in Africa playing for Guinea in this international break, behind the scenes the courtship for his signature was getting under.

He can leave Stuttgart for a bargain fee of €17.5m in the January transfer window via a release clause, something which attracts ‘many interested parties’.

Newcastle United, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are all keen on a potential deal and the Magpies may have a toe ahead of the competition.

That’s because a move to St James Park would mean Guirassy could ‘fulfill his dream’ of playing in the Premier League, something Atletico and AC Milan obviously could not offer him.

This dream of playing in England’s top flight has already seen him turn down clubs from Saudi Arabia, who also made it clear they want him in the January window. The striker said no to that proposal as he wants to carry on playing at the top level, which in Europe means the Premier League.

He turned down these offers despite the fact he could have ‘earned significantly more’ from the transfer than he currently does in Stuttgart.

He’s happy where he is for the time being but has made it clear in public statements that anything can happen and BILD insist that the Premier League is very much in his eyeline.

That should give Newcastle an advantage if their interest is as strong as stated, although for now neither they nor the other two clubs have officially approached his club, but rather gone through consultants who are ‘sounding out the market’.
